FRIED CABBAGE (WITH BACON, ONION, AND GARLIC)

Ingredients:

1 large head of cabbage, chopped

5 strips of bacon, chopped

1 large onion, diced

3 cloves garlic, minced

Salt and pepper to taste

1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)

Directions:

In a large skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until it starts to crisp. Remove the bacon and set it aside, leaving the bacon grease in the skillet.

Add the diced onion to the skillet with the bacon grease. Cook until the onion becomes translucent and begins to brown, about 5 minutes.

Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.

Add the chopped cabbage to the skillet. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika if using. Stir well to combine with the onion and garlic.

Cook the cabbage, stirring occasionally, until it is tender and some of the edges start to brown slightly, about 10-15 minutes.

Once the cabbage is cooked to your liking, add the cooked bacon back into the skillet. Stir to combine and heat through.

Serve this hearty and flavorful Fried Cabbage with Bacon, Onion, and Garlic as a delicious side dish or a simple main course. Enjoy!
