Ingredients:
1 cup butter, softened
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon salt
4 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 cans (21 ounces each) cherry pie filling
1 cup fresh cherries, pitted and halved
GLAZE:
1 cup confectioners’ sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
2 to 3 tablespoons whole milk
LETS MAKE IT-
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, sugar, and salt until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla and almond extracts.
Gradually add the flour to the wet ingredients, mixing until well combined.
Spread 3 cups of the dough into a greased 15x10x1-inch baking pan.
Scatter the fresh cherry halves over the cherry pie filling.
Drop the remaining dough by teaspoonfuls over the cherry filling.
Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
Cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
In a small bowl, mix together the confectioners’ sugar, vanilla extract, almond extract, and enough milk to reach your desired glaze consistency. Drizzle the glaze over the top.
Enjoy your cherry-enhanced dessert!
